It looks like WeVideo first creates the video on its server, then takes a bit of time getting it ready for export. I grabbed our Baby Goats clip and copy-pasted it into the timeline, then exported to 4k. I tried a full 10 minute video to see what a common YouTube video might be like.

Not only do you get to work with 4k footage, but if you upgrade to their $216/year plan, there’s a decent library of stock video to pull from. For $16/a month or $96/a year, you get access to one of the most feature-packed web editors available. I didn’t mention this one in my last comparison, but it’s definitely a contender. Especially when you see how the Flex 5 handled the cheaper, yet more feature rich apps below. $324/year is too costly for the features they offer. As I stated in my Duet article, I wouldn’t recommend Clipchamp because the price-to-value ratio is a bit off. I exported at 1080p with default compression and it took 5:04.Īll in all, it wasn’t bad for a “consumer-grade” or “how-to” video solution.
The Flex 5 could move around the project quite fast and scrub as smoothly as the Clipchamp servers would allow. They have the same amount of RAM, so the Duet’s weaker processor must be to blame. Whereas the Duet struggled with this project, the Flex 5 handled it easily. The RAM was pretty near maxed out, but I also had a full Google Doc and 2 Drive windows open.
